Holy Spirit Power

Luke 4:16-21

Every believer can be filled repeatedly with the power of Holy Spirit.

Our Beliefs

The Scriptures are verbally inspired (breathed out) by the Holy Spirit, are without error in the original manuscripts and are the authoritative written Word of God. The Word of God is central to who we are; it frames our beliefs, our life activities and helps us to see and interact with others.

2 Timothy 3:16

The Trinity is the infinite mystery of the infinite God. There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each possessing all the qualities of Deity with distinct personalities. Genesis 1:26

Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Therefore, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever. John 1:1-18; Colossians 2:9-10

The salvation of man is completely a work of God’s sovereign free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. Man is totally responsible for accepting or rejecting the free offer of the gospel. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation and thereby justifies them in His sight. Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8; Titus 2:11

Upon His ascension, He received an everlasting dominion, glory and a kingdom that will not be destroyed. From there, as the only mediator between God and man, He now reigns as King eternally to restore all things on earth that were lost through the fall of man. Luke 19:10,Revelation 1:4-8, Revelation 11:15

Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. Holy Spirit convicts and draws sinners to Christ, gives new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the second coming of Christ. John 6:27; John 16:7-11; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 4:30

Sanctification is both an act and a process. Every believer is enabled to live a godly life through the present ministry and indwelling of Holy Spirit; set apart from sin by God and then set apart to God. By faith the believer is led into the fullness, power and control of Holy Spirit as they yield their life to Him. Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:4-5; 5:23

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience in which believers yield control of themselves to the Holy Spirit. Through this the believer comes to know Christ in a more intimate way and receives power to witness and grow spiritually. Believers should earnestly seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:11; Luke 24:49; Acts1:5,8; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:15-17).

The church is the living spiritual body of Jesus Christ which has been joined to Him through saving faith. Jesus Christ is the Head of the church, which encompasses all true believers at all times and in all places. We believe in the local church expressing itself as a place where believers gather regularly for worship, equipping, encouragement and fellowship. The church also expresses itself as a living organism—His ekklesia engaging and influencing culture. Matthew 16:18; Hebrews 10:22-23

Jesus Christ came to establish the Kingdom of God here on earth. As King, Jesus rules within the hearts and spirits of believers. As His vice-regents, we are deputized as believers to represent the Kingdom of God on earth. As Kingdom citizens, believers are to carry out Kingdom principles in every area of life. Matthew 6:33; Luke 17:20b-21; John 3:5-6; Romans 14:17

Spiritual gifts are operations of God’s grace made available to the body of Christ, empowering them to accomplish His kingdom purposes through the more excellent way of love (1 Corinthians 12:31, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Romans 12:4-5, Ephesians 4:7-11).

Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God throughout the world and to make disciples of all the nations. The fulfillment of the message of the Kingdom of God requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ “who loved us and gave Himself for us.” Matthew 28:16-20; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20
