Our Sunday service starts at 10:30am. When you arrive you'll find ample parking out front. We know that visiting a church might be a little intimidating so we have friendly people ready to great you at the door and answer any questions you might have. There are a variety of people who find their way to Encounter Durham — different ages and cultures, all with a story to tell about God's work in their lives. So you can come just as you are. Feel free to dress casual. Encounter Durham is a place where you'll find love, grace and the presence of Jesus.

WORSHIP
the presence of God
We love to sing about who God is and what He is doing in our lives so our services usually start with some lively music and worship. You might see some people raising their hands during worship as an act of love and surrender to God. You can feel free to stand, sit and even dance. We believe in freedom in worship and place a high value on God's presence. We believe we encounter God as we sing and focus our attention on Him.

TEACHING
the word of God
Once worship is done, we'll have a few announcements and then a message inspired from the Bible and focused on God and His kingdom will be shared. Because we also believe in the power of what God is doing in our lives, you might hear members of the congregation sharing their story about how they met God or how He is working in their lives. We believe in allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through what is shared and spoken.
ENCOUNTER KIDZ
Toddlers: 4 and under
Our young babies and toddlers have an atmosphere of love, songs, activities, and toys to engage them. Before the age of five every child is like a sponge that quickly retains information that will influence their development. Our desire is help each child feel God’s love so they grow into their God given gifts.
Older Children: 5 - 12
At Encounter Durham our children are empowered to be the reformers that God has made them to be. Our goal for each child is to have a solid biblical foundation so they are able to extend His Kingdom in their back yard, schools, and beyond. We cultivate an exciting environment full of open discussion, scripture memorization, fun activities and parent involvement.
