Worship & Prayer
at Forestbrook

In April 2021, a small core group of worshippers (singers and musicians) had a sense they wanted to press into God in worship during the pandemic and we began to meet on a weekly basis on Thursday evenings.  Soon we were joined by a prayer leader, and the leadership team of the church. We never quite knew how the Lord would meet with us or speak, but He always surprised us.

In September of 2021, we moved to Southside Worship Centre in Ajax for a season. Every week was different, and expectation grew in our hearts—we were excited to meet with each other and the Lord. People from outside Encounter Durham were welcomed in as they heard about what was going on. They found an atmosphere of the presence of God where they could sit and rest in God’s presence, or choose to join in with the worship and the prayer.  From week to week, we’re never sure of what God is going to do, but we do know that as we make room for Him with our songs, our prayers and even our silence, He meets with us corporately and speaks with us.

In August of 2022, we were welcomed to Forestbrook Community Church in Ajax, where we continued to meet until July of 2023. We are currently looking into other places to have worship and prayer nights during the week.

In the meantime, consider joining us for extended worship on Sunday mornings at Encounter Durham.
